Petri Studio was started by scientists who spent years producing reference materials and quality controls to pharmaceutical and biotech standards. We kept asking the same question: why doesn't anyone bring this level of rigor to the consumer?

Mold and bacteria testing at home has been broken for a long time. Inspectors are expensive and slow. Basic DIY kits stop when the plate starts growing. They tell you something is there, but not what it means or what to do about it. The result is that most people spend months and hundreds of dollars looking for an answer they never fully get.

We built Petri Studio to change that. Our kits use the same culture media we formulated for regulated industries, pre-poured and ready to use. The Petri Studio app gives you a guided read of the visible growth on each plate, saves it to the room it came from, and helps you decide what to consider next. It works with compatible settle plates from other brands too.
